Justin or not Justin

Riley knows her fair share of Children's songs (yankee doodle, wheels on the bus, ring around the rosie, etc.) but when it comes to pop music Riley understands two distinct genres of music, Justin and Not Justin, as in Justin Timberlake or Not Justin Timberlake. This has been fine, Justin comes on the radio and Riley says "Another Justin" and then proceeds quickly with "Dance Mommy.... Dance!" And we dance together in the car.  These two distinct genres pose a small problem with songs like Timbaland's "Give it to me". How could only part of the song be Justin. It's got to be either Justin or Not Justin.  Doug, Riley, and I were in the car last night and "Give it to me" comes on. I explain that this particular song is very confusing to Riley, she doesn't get that only part of the song is Justin. Doug says, "There's one way to remedy that" Doug proceeds to change the radio station. I complain and his reasoning is "I'm just trying to help our daughter, I don't want her confused"

I had to laugh even though I was mad he turned Justin off.

come get your bad luck bad

Ok I've had enough. Could things get more unlucky for me? I feel like I'm in the middle of that horrible Lindsay Lohan movie "Just My Luck" that comes on HBO all the time and sucks me in everytime regardless of how very very very bad it is. Anyway in the movie Lindsay plays a girl who is unbelievably lucky and she freakishly switches luck with a guy who has the worst luck ever. (Like freaky friday only with luck, anyway). So I feel like whatever luck I did have has been freakishly swapped with someone bad luck.  Whoevers bad luck I have PLEASE come take it back, I've had enough. I can't take in anymore.  Want to know what's been going on? Are you sure?

Okay, so thinking back I think it all started when we found out that Doug's Dad has cancer. That's obviously the worst of it, but annoying things have been happening to me every since.

The power supply went in our PC and it took BOTH our harddrives with it. One of those hard drives being my media drive with all my music, videos, and photos on it. And of course its been quite some time since I backed everything up. I should know better, I do know better, but hey I haven't backed up and now I'm paying the price. We're in the process of trying to repair the drive and if that doesn't work its being shipped off to some ridiculously expensive company to retrieve my priceless photos and videos of Riley that I haven't backed up or posted anywhere yet. So that's fun.

I was sick for two days.

Nyssa got fleas. None of my pets have ever gotten fleas. We've had Nyssa for 5 years and Dakota for 10 years and not one flea. Then we took Nyssa out to the country this weekend to visit Doug's parents and we find out that a family of fleas has hitched a ride home on her. So we treat her with Frontline which we had and of course we're not proactively treating. I felt so bad for her, she looked miserable yesterday scratching and scratching. Seems the Frontline has finally kicked in today though. Then I had to get stuff to treat the house and wash everything. I sprayed the everything that I could. Had to take Dakota to the vet to get some treatment for him just in case. He hasn't been to the vet in 3 years. Had to go buy a cat carrier and pray he wouldn't tear me to shreds when I tried to put him in there. He was very good, he got the treatment and a side of 2 shots with it that were out of date. Vet says he's under weight by 1-2 pounds so we need to keep an eye on him.  That cost about $200 including the household flea treatment, cat carrier, and vet visit. Yippeee.....

I leave to head to pick Riley up this afternoon and the hear this horrible pop sound while I'm backing out of the driveway. It actually sounded like I hit something. I started driving down the road and noticed that the brakes were making this horrible sound. I have no idea what's wrong with them, I probably snapped a brake line for all I know. So I sit hear waiting for Doug to come home with Riley and tell me the bad news. God only knows how much that's going to cost.  On a side note I start to wonder what the hell I would do if this happened and I couldn't get a hold of Doug. Doug was in class at the time and I had to call him about 5 times to get a hold of him. What would I do if his phone was dead???

To add to the crappiness of all this, I had to go to a funeral last Thursday for a co-worker whom I've know for about 10 years. She died suddenly in a motorcycle accident.

Then to add to the fun, I got my period!!!! Thankfully that's over this week. :)

It doesn't sound like alot when I write it all down, but it all happened over the course of a week and a half, so it feels a hundred times worse then it is.

So, person who's bad luck I have, come and get it damn it... I don't want it anymore!!!!
